“I have just completed a course of lessons with Stan. I have always had a lot of anxiety around the idea of swimming, which often felt like it would be impossible to overcome. “I can hardly find the words to express how amazing it is that I can now swim!
I had quite a lot of trauma from swimming classes at school, so in my first lesson with Stan it was hard for me to even get in the pool, let alone put my face in the water. But Stan is an extremely patient, calm and supportive teacher with a reassuring presence, and he was really respectful of my need to take things at my own pace.
Now, I can glide through the water and I absolutely love it – I even like being in the deep end, which is something I never thought I’d be able to say. It feels like a complete transformation!
To anyone thinking “I’d love to learn to swim but I have all these fears”, please know that it’s possible to get past them, with a bit of perseverance and the help of a mindful, sensitive and encouraging teacher like Stan. I couldn’t have asked for anyone better to guide and support me on my journey.

"I did 7 sessions over 4 days with Stan last week with the aim to release tension in my swimming and hopefully reduce neck and shoulder pain after being in the pool.
It was great! Along with his breathwork knowledge, the swimming sessions have really helped me feel like I'm swimming with more ease and comfort.
Stan was a calm teacher with lots of knowledge in Alexander Technique and swimming combined.

"I thoroughly enjoyed my swimming sessions with Stan. They were a very relaxing experience and I came away after each session with more confidence for swimming but more importantly with a sense of wellbeing from being in the water.
My previous experiences of swimming had been that it was a ‘task to get from a-b as quickly as possible’. After my sessions with Stan, I learned that swimming was an enjoyable activity and one to relax the body and mind.
Stan was very patient with me during the lessons and we did laugh about my perceptions and expectations about why I was there. Once I had become resigned to the fact that I wasn't going to become an Olympic swimmer it was fine. I would highly recommend lessons with Stan; he is a fabulous teacher."
